Carnival Cruise Lines to Suspend Fuel Supplement Effective Dec. 17

December 4, 2008 - As fuel prices continue to decline, six brands from Carnival Corporation & plc, including Carnival Cruise Lines, have announced that they will suspend fuel supplements effective for all voyages departing on or after December 17, 2008.

In addition to Carnival, the fuel supplement suspension applies to Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and The Yachts of Seabourn.

Carnival Splendor's Inaugural Call at Fort Lauderdale

November 24, 2008 - To celebrate the Carnival Splendor's inaugural call at Fort Lauderdale, a reception was held aboard the 3,006-passenger vessel attended by officials from both the cruise line and Port Everglades.

Carnival's New 130,000-Ton Carnival Dream to Host Two 'John Heald Bloggers Cruises' in 2009

November 21, 2008 - Carnival Cruise Lines' immensely popular senior cruise director and ‘blogger extraordinaire' John Heald will host two Bloggers Cruises aboard the new 130,000-ton Carnival Dream in 2009.

The first, an eight-day voyage operating round-trip from New York November 15-23, 2009, will call at Port Canaveral, Fla., and Nassau and Freeport, The Bahamas. A second nine-day voyage sailing round-trip from Port Canaveral, Fla. December 3-12, 2009, will feature stops at Antigua; Tortola; St. Thomas/St. John; San Juan; and Grand Turk.

Carnival To Host Community Service Day in New Orleans Prior to Bloggers Cruise on Carnival Fantasy in Feb. 2009

October 29, 2008 - Participants in the second "John Heald Bloggers Cruise" - taking place aboard the newly refurbished Carnival Fantasy from New Orleans in February 2009 - will not only enjoy five fun-filled days sailing with the popular senior cruise director, but they can also make a difference in the lives of local residents.

The "Bloggers Cruise Community Service Day" will take place in New Orleans on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, the day prior to the departure of the second annual cruise - a five-day voyage to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico, operating Feb. 7-12, 2009.

Carnival Liberty to Operate Year-Round Seven-Day Cruises From Miami Beginning April 2009 - Introduction of Year-Round Cruises From Baltimore on Carnival Pride Moved Up to Spring

October 27, 2008 - Carnival Cruise Lines has announced that its Miami-based Carnival Liberty, which was originally scheduled to reposition to Europe in May 2009, will instead remain in Miami to operate year-round Caribbean cruises.

The Carnival Liberty will continue to offer its existing schedule of seven-day Caribbean cruises through next spring and then introduce a new seven-day program from Miami beginning in April 2009.

In turn, the Carnival Pride, currently based in Long Beach, Calif., and originally scheduled to shift to Miami for a five-month Caribbean deployment from April through August, will instead launch its Baltimore-based program on April 27, 2009.
