As bookings for the river itineraries continue to rise, Cruise West will stay and operate a new summer itinerary rather than send the Spirit of '98 to Alaska for the summer season.

SEATTLE, WA - October 23, 2008 - Cruise West (www.cruisewest.com), the global leader in small-ship exploration voyages and the largest American-owned cruise line, is waiving the fuel surcharge on all 2009 Alaska cruise itineraries for guests who book and pay in full by December 12, 2008. The waiver is applicable for all new and current bookings. Guests can save from $105 per person on a seven-night cruise to $360 for a 24-night cruise with the fuel surcharge promotion. Cruise West guests can also combine this value with early booking incentives to save additional dollars.
"In this challenging economy, Cruise West wants to offer incentives to guests who book their Alaska vacation with us and have the comfort of knowing the exact price of their cruise," remarked President and Chief Executive Officer Dietmar R. Wertanzl. "Combine the fuel surcharge savings with the early booking discounts offered and guests will save hundreds of dollars by booking and paying in advance."
