SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - December 17, 2008 - Expanding its commitment to reduce air emissions, Princess Cruises has announced it will turn off its ships' engines and instead use clean hydroelectric power supplied from ashore when calling at the Port of Vancouver during the upcoming 2009 summer cruise season.
The innovative technology is being made possible through a partnership with several Canadian project partners and sister company Holland America Line.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - December 12, 2008 - The Princess Captain's Circle has introduced a new way to determine membership levels that will allow some passengers to more quickly reach the program's higher Platinum and Elite membership levels. The loyalty program will now count "cruise credits" instead of number of sailings, and passengers who travel in full suites and those who pay a single supplement will receive double cruise credits for their sailings -- making them eligible for greater benefits with fewer cruises.
The new cruise credits program is effective for all sailings on or after December 7, 2008. All passengers who complete a cruise will receive one cruise credit, and in the following cases, passengers will receive double credit or more:

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - December 10, 2008 - Princess Cruises' unique dining event, the Chef's Table, has been honored as the winner of the Food & Beverage/Hotel Operations Award in the Second Annual Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards. The award was presented today during the Seatrade Med 2008 conference in Venice, Italy.
Recognizing "any individual or company that has created a forward thinking concept or practice or innovation in the F&B/hotel area," the award was determined by a judging panel of industry executives, members of Seatrade Insider's global editorial team, cruise consultants, analysts and association experts from around the world.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - December 5, 2008 - Princess Cruises is once again recognizing the important role local tour operators play in the overall cruise experience by announcing the winners of its 2007-08 C.R.U.I.S.E. service awards for the Caribbean. The 10th annual awards honor passenger choices for best tours of the season plus favorite tour guides in many of the ports where Princess ships call.
A number of tours have topped the list for several years, and one -- the Americas Cup 12-Metre Yacht Regatta tour in St. Maarten -- has now been voted 'Shore Excursion of the Season' for the 10th year in a row.
